Tournois

Piece for seven performers
Craation at TPE Bezons Paris 2010 – finaliszed in 2011 as part of the Biennale of Charleroi Danse (Brussels)
Duration : 60’

This, the third instalment of a project looking into the dialectic of conflict, Tournois (Tournaments) features seven dancers in a game of chess. At once manipulators and manipulated, they are meet in a series of «tournaments» that blur the lines between “game” and “me”. Verbal jousting, demonstrations of force, courtship rituals or dressage lessons: constantly swinging between reality and fiction, the choreography touches on situations that are sometimes funny, sometimes intimate and inquire about relationships between men. Sometimes just one detail, a simple grain of sand in the mechanism of life, is enough to change everything, and to lose control.
